The Maoist elements celebrated the National Missing Warriors Memorial on Sunday 2nd of May by organizing various programs. This day has been celebrated on 7th of June every year in memory of the warriors who were disappeared by the state during the ten-year civil war organized by the former CPN (Maoist) from 2052 to 2063. Even though 7th of June is known as Missing Warriors Day, the families of missing warriors are honoring and remembering their loved ones on this day. When the then (Maoist) people were fighting a people's war, the government made 1,095 people (statistics of Martyrs Institute of Nepal) missing. Even today, their condition is unknown. Even after more than a decade has passed since the peace process started in the country and the republic was declared, the situation of the missing citizens has not been made public. After the beginning of the people's war, the then state made leaders, workers, supporters, well-wishers and people of the time (Maoist) disappear along with murdering them on the accusation of Maoist. During the People's War, this kind of disappearance took place in 2054 after the arrest of Fanindra Simkhada from Kaski. Then in the year 2055, the central member of the then CPN (Maoist) Dandpani Neupane (Sharma), journalist Milan Nepali, Naveen Gautam, Kamala Sharma were arrested and disappeared from Sundhara in Kathmandu. Similarly, the editor of the weekly Sindhuli Post, Chitra Narayan Shrestha, is still missing. The late Krishna Prasad Bhattarai, who became the Prime Minister shortly after their disappearance, said that 'They are already killed', that is, they are all dead.

Meanwhile, in 2069, the investigation, truth-telling and reconciliation of the missing persons ordinance was issued. A writ was filed on the ordinance and an interim order was issued by the Supreme Court. After that order, on May 28, 2071, the Investigation, Truth and Reconciliation Commission Act, 2071 was issued and on January 27, 2071, the Commission of Inquiry on Disappeared Persons was formed, but it could not be implemented.

With the development of the people's war, the then Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba's government declared a crisis in the country. The army was mobilized all over the country. It issued a 'Red Corner Notice' in the name of Maoist leaders and termed them as 'terrorists' and set a price for their heads. It was the policy of the unitary monarchical government at that time to reward those who brought the head dead or alive. At the same time, the government at that time intensified the disappearance of Maoist fighters and civilians. According to statistics, during the time of the then Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, 400 people were arrested and disappeared. Thus, from the year 2054 to the year 2063, whoever became the Prime Minister or the head of the state, during their time, the state continued to make them disappear. The then General Secretary of Akhil (Revolutionary) Purna Paudel, student leaders Vipin Bhandari, Naveen Rai, Chetanath Dhungana were also disappeared. The then Shahisena disappeared 49 people including Kaushalya Pokharel, Dhirendra Basnet, Nischal Nakarmi, Gyanendra Tripathi from Bhairavanath Gana. The people's war was declared with the goal and purpose, Dr. after the peace process. When Baburam Bhattarai was the prime minister, he promoted the infamous Raju Basnet as the main person behind the disappearance of Bhairavanath Gana instead of taking action. In this sense, Dr. Bhattarai was also criticized. Later, he not only abandoned the Maoist party but also declared that he was not a communist. The missing warriors have been alleging that despite the government led by Pushpa Kamal 'Prachanda' and Baburam Bhattarai, who were considered heroes of the People's War at that time, nothing has been done about the situation of the missing warriors. The main reason for their rise to power was the sacrifice and dedication of those martyrs, missing warriors, wounded warriors and their families. Even now, the families of those who have disappeared are in trouble. Martyrs are not coming back now, it is understood by everyone, but still neither the breath nor the body of the disappeared has been found. Not getting either breath or breath has caused psychological distress in the family members. They are still holding on to hope that their relatives will return. Who will compensate for this psychological damage? This aspect is separate. After announcing the end of the people's war and going through the peace process, even though Prachanda has been in power for three times, despite the formation of the Truth and Inquiry Commission, its officials have not been able to work in a result-oriented manner. It has not been able to properly investigate the massacres and excesses committed by the state during the people's war yesterday. The families of the missing warriors allege that the government is delaying rather than publicizing the real situation of the missing warriors. Prime Minister Prachanda has said that for the first time since he became the Prime Minister, he started working in favor of the people's war warriors and missing warriors by inaugurating the inscription of the missing warriors. For the first time when he was the Prime Minister, Prime Minister Prachanda, who published the decision in the gazette, said that he declared the warriors killed in the People's War as national martyrs without making noise. In addition, despite various protests, he has decided to celebrate the People's War Day as a national day without making noise again, he said on the occasion of the Disappearance Day on May 7. All currents of the Maoist movement should be united and vigilant in order to find out the condition of all the missing warriors of the people's war. While Prime Minister Prachanda is saying that the investigation of the missing warriors and the work of the peace process is at the final stage, those who have gone missing so far may not be alive right now, but it is necessary to find out where, when and how they were killed. Even when Prachanda, the commander of the people's war, is the prime minister of the country, if the truth about the situation of the missing cannot be revealed, it cannot be believed that this task will be completed by anyone else. Now, instead of calling those warriors missing, declaring their status as martyrs will give satisfaction to the families of the missing warriors. As the time has passed, the families of the missing are not the only ones who are always worried. It is appropriate to make the situation public.
