After 76 people working in Prime Minister’s office, Baluwatar tested positive for Corona Virus, including his advisors, KP Oli has halted all non essential meetings. The Secretariat meeting scheduled for Sunday has been pushed to uncertainty after COVID cases spike up in the PM residence.
The meeting was called to discuss about the ambassador’s appointment, cabinet reshuffle and other major issues.
Although PM had tested negative, his chief advisor Bishnu Rimal, Foreign Advisor Rajan Bhattarai, Press Advisor Surya Thapa, photographer Rajan Kafle, Chief Personal Secretary Indra Bhandari, 65 security personnel and 6 other staffs tested COVID positive on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the central committee meeting of Nepali Congress scheduled for Monday is uncertain after four central committee members including Gagan Thapa and Arjun Narshing KC tested COVID positive on Saturday.
The meeting was called to discuss whether the general convention of the party could be held as scheduled in February. But after the leaders tested corona positive, the meeting has become uncertain and decision will be made by Sunday afternoon on whether to postpone the meeting or not.
