NCP Secretariat meeting to be held on Saturday
October 2, 2020
The meeting of ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) is scheduled to be held on Saturday at the Prime Minister’s official Residence Baluwatar at 4 pm.
The meeting between two chairmen of NCP today decided to schedule a Secretariat meeting Saturday afternoon. Agenda of this meeting will be about cabinet reshuffle, appointment of Ambassadors, along with other major issues.
With Prime Minister KP Oli’s unilateral decision to appoint ambassadors made the other factions within NCP furious. Party chairmen Pushpa Kamal Dahal and other senior leaders in the Secretariat are displeased about Thursday Cabinet decision to appoint Yubaraj Khatiwada and Lok Darshan Regmi as Ambassador to USA and UK respectively.
With raging intra-party feud within NCP, a taskforce was formed which brought two chairmen of ruling NCP to consensus earlier on September. The consensus mentioned that any political appointment will be made through discussion in Secretariat and consultation between the two chairmen.
However, sudden appointment of envoys without consultation in the secretariat has left party’s senior leaders furious.
